About Us
Department of Political Science established on 1939for under-graduation courses & Post Graduation courses. Ist is a moral duty of the department to provide the students a sound base political studies by an in-depth, investigation into broad range of political phenomena at the national and International level. 

Vision
The Department of Political Science aspires to provide high-quality education of Political Science. The Department works to cultivate ethos of liberty, equality and democracy among the young minds of rural Punjab . Along with these the Department also seeks to impart policy oriented knowledge of Political Science so as to meet the needs of the government, higher studies, market and society at large. We look forward to make the Department a center for learning and research in political studies which will be capable to address the problems of the global community

Mission

To bring higher education and dissemination of ideas of Political Science among the students of rural area .
To develop rational approach and critical thinking among students and to inculcate among them a feeling of service to the nation and global community at large.
Adoption of a dynamic curricula and student friendly teaching methods so as to achieve their overall academic needs and develop their real world problem solving skills.
Integrating teachers’ research works with teaching and also encouraging and involving students in research activities for first hand learning experience.

Activities
2023--24

Department/college offers exposure to post graduate classes by sending them to various destination
: 14  national voter day was celebrated by ELC under our department faculty Dr Gulshandeep Dania, who organized the day with the  district administration. Principal of the college pr Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Vice-Principal, SDM Sangrur and Bhawanigarh, Tehshildar and other official were present in conference was shown to the students faculty of chief election commission of India , voter took the pledge to vote fearless and impartialy  new voter were given I'd proof.

: Old student Mr Kuldeep Singh was invited by the innovation and enterpreneurship cell of our college for promoting college industry on 18/1/24 it was a moment of great pride to welcome our own students as motivational speaker.

: Well of democracy:
Under the able guidance of principal Prof. (Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh, ELC/ VAF / SVEEP cells of the department under ELC convert of Dr Gulshan deep Dania  and H.O.D Prof. Meenakshi Markan organized a rally with Political science students and literate them about democratic structure and upcoming Lok Sabha elections in June 2024 .A wall of democracy was created and entire faculty students and  principal signed the voters pledge on 21/2/24

: Dummy election:
To make our students aware of the procedure of election, dummy election were conducted for entire pol sci department students on 15/3/24.
 Though the election was done by ballot paper but the election officer conducted a workshop for students to learn on dummy EVMs
