Government Ranbir College Sangrur

National Service Scheme is the flagship programme of central Govt. to inculcate the qualities of social service in the youngsters. The Motto of NSS is “Not me but You”.

Govt. Ranbir College, Sangrur has four Units of NSS, two for boys and two for girls. The Programme Officer of Unit-I (Boys) is Rupinder Kumar Sharma, Unit-II (Girls) Sudha Rani Sharma, Unit-II (Boys) Jagdeep Sing and Unit-IV (Girls) Tapinder Kaur.

Each unit enrols 100 students as NSS Volunteers each year and out of these 50 volunteers are allowed to participate in 7 day-night camp in the adopted village.

NSS is related with many activities. Some important activities are:

Cleanliness Drive
Tree Plantation
Blood Donation Camps
Celebration of various important International and National Days.
Social Awareness Programmes
Environment Protection
Educational and Motivational Seminars etc.

NSS not only helps to groom the volunteers but also prepare them to be useful to the society. It teaches the dignity of labour, leadership, management, to live in limited resources and social behaviour. It joins the volunteers with the society so that society can be made better to live.
