RUSA is one of the Flagship programme initiated by Union govt in collaboration with state govt for the upliftment of level of education in Govt. institutions in some educationally lagged behind districts of India. Sangrur being one such district has been selected by Govt in 2015 for the purpose and the “Govt. Ranbir College, Sangrur” being the premier institute of the locality was chosen for the purpose.
Under the scheme college was sanctioned a total sum of Rs 2 crore for Infrastructure, 5 lakh for equity initiatives and 2 lakh as MMER grant. The whole sum of rupees received from govt. in the form of grants from time to time was spent as per the govt. directions and requirements for upliftment of education in the college and locality as a whole.
